Better Coaches = Better Players
Bedford Soccer Association believes the development of coaches is critical to the overall development of soccer players.
Outside of our paid technical staff, all our coaches are volunteers and we value and appreciate the time and effort they contribute to helping our players. Volunteer coaches make all of this possible, and we hope their experiences with BSA will be as rewarding and enjoyable as possible.
We offer the following resources to our coaches this summer:
Clinics & Scrimmages:
Starting in May 2010, we will be offering Coaching Clinics and Scrimmages once a month. The sessions will involve sample drills and philosophies used at the top levels to apply to your team practices. The coaches will have a fun scrimmage at the end of the sessions. We will also have age specific clinics for our Minis Program coaches in the spring and summer. Check back for dates and locations.
Meetings:
We will have coaches meetings once teams are selected to cover what you need to know for the season, discuss basic tactics used in the outdoor game, and answer any questions you may have.
Soccer Nova Scotia Courses:
We will keep you up to date on coaching and certification courses offered by Soccer Nova Scotia. BSA is committed to covering the costs of courses for our coaches.

Online Resources:
The site has changed into a site with a membership fee to access the drills and videos. I have contacted them about purchasing a club membership. I’ll let you know what I find out.
This is one of the best free online resources for soccer coaches. Go the website, click ‘Learn It’, then click ‘Coaches’ and then click ‘Drills & Practices’. Pick the age group you want to work with and start downloading the drill videos. The short videos of sessions run by top professional teams in Europe and South America are a great learning tool.
Byte Sized coaching is a tool for coaches at all levels. Coaches at the U4-U12 level can print off entire practice plans. There is also an option to select a specific development focus and select age appropriate drills. Click the following link to view more. Our technical staff is always available for support. Contact us to arrange a meeting to discuss anything you need. We can set up video analysis sessions for your team, help you plan practice drills and discuss game tactics.
